According to the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 5, Michael L. Wiggins, 46, of Bradley, was arrested following an extensive investigation involving multiple individuals who alleged they were sexually assaulted as juveniles.
The investigation began in June 2026 after a sexual assault response team notified state police about allegations made by multiple victims who are now adults.
Investigators allege that Wiggins sexually assaulted the individuals when they were children.
Wiggins now faces multiple counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a Class X felony; criminal sexual assault, a Class 1 felony; and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony.
State police said evidence uncovered during the investigation suggests additional victims may exist who have not yet been identified.
Authorities indicated the alleged offenses may have occurred in several Illinois communities, including Kankakee, Watseka, Champaign and Decatur.
The geographic scope of the investigation has prompted state police to seek information from residents across multiple areas of Illinois.
Investigators are urging anyone who believes they may have been victimized by Wiggins, or who possesses information about the allegations, to contact authorities.

The department has not disclosed the total number of identified victims, the specific dates of the alleged offenses or additional details about where the incidents reportedly occurred.
The charges are allegations, and Wiggins is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
