Bourbonnais, IL – Families across Kankakee County looking for free Halloween fun won't have to wait until October 31, as Bourbonnais prepares to welcome children and parents for an evening of trick or treating, costumes and community activities this Wednesday.
According to the Village of Bourbonnais, the Safety Town Spooktacular will take place Wednesday, October 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Safety Town at The Grove, located at 700 Main St. NW in Bourbonnais.
The free, family friendly event invites children to dress in their favorite Halloween costumes and bring candy buckets for an evening of seasonal activities.
Young attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy trick or treating while meeting local first responders in a welcoming community setting.
The event is presented by KanComm and the Village of Bourbonnais, bringing together public safety personnel and local families for a Halloween celebration.
Organizers are encouraging participants to arrive dressed for the occasion, whether that means spooky costumes, superheroes, princesses or other creative Halloween favorites.
Safety Town at The Grove will serve as the gathering location for the festivities, providing a local destination for families from Bourbonnais, Bradley, Kankakee and surrounding communities.
With Halloween still more than two weeks away, Wednesday's celebration offers an early opportunity for children to enjoy costumes and candy without waiting until the end of the month.
Admission is free, making the event an accessible option for families looking for activities during the week.
Parents planning to attend should note the two hour event window, beginning at 5:30 p.m. and concluding at 7:30 p.m.
The Village of Bourbonnais encourages residents to bring their little ghosts and goblins for what organizers describe as a spooktacular evening.
