Arlington Heights, IL – The Arlington Heights Police Department is actively investigating a string of burglaries that occurred in the early morning hours of September 11, 2026. Authorities reported that the incidents took place within the 1600 block of S. Princeton Avenue, as well as the 1500 and 1600 blocks of Surrey Ridge Drive, prompting an immediate investigation by local detectives.
According to the Arlington Heights Police Department , victims reported finding their vehicles broken into while parked in their driveways. In some instances, perpetrators reportedly gained access to garages by utilizing remote openers found inside the vehicles, subsequently burglarizing the homes themselves. The suspects were observed using two vehicles: a white Lincoln Navigator and a black Lincoln Navigator, both of which had been reported stolen from Chicago.
Detectives are currently utilizing the department's Automated License Plate Reader technology and various surveillance camera systems to develop leads. Law enforcement is also coordinating with neighboring agencies that responded to similar reports during the same timeframe. Officials are urging residents in the affected areas to review any home surveillance or doorbell camera footage captured overnight between September 10 and September 11, 2026.
To prevent future occurrences, police advise residents to keep vehicles locked, remove all valuables and garage door openers from plain sight, and ensure that garage service doors remain secured at all times. While authorities have emphasized there is no immediate cause for alarm, they ask the public to remain observant and report any suspicious activity as it occurs.
