Macon, GA – The Bibb County Sheriff 's Office has launched an investigation into the shooting death of a 21 year old man. The incident occurred on Sunday, September 20, 2026, within the 2300 block of Pio Nono Avenue.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the incident was reported to the Macon Bibb E 911 center shortly before 3:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Responding deputies arrived at the scene and rendered medical aid to the victim, identified as Jeremiah McCrary, until the arrival of local fire department personnel and paramedics.
Following emergency treatment at the scene, McCrary was transported to a local medical facility for further care. He was later pronounced deceased by medical staff at the hospital. Officials have confirmed that the incident is currently under active investigation and promised that additional details will be provided to the public as they become available.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to contact the Bibb County Sheriff's Office directly at 478 751 7500. The community is asked to assist law enforcement as they work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
