Tampa, Florida – Tampa Bay faces daily thunderstorms this week, with rain chances reaching 80% on some days and highs climbing into the lower 90s.
According to the National Weather Service in Tampa Bay, warm and humid conditions will continue across west central and southwest Florida. Showers and thunderstorms are expected each day, although drier northeast air should reduce rain chances Wednesday afternoon in areas north of Interstate 4.
Monday brings scattered to numerous thunderstorms, with rain chances ranging from 40% to 70%. Highs across the region are expected to range from 89 to 93 degrees.
Scattered to numerous thunderstorms return Tuesday. Rain chances increase to 50% to 70%, with highs from 88 to 93 and lows from 73 to 77.
Wednesday brings the week's widest variation in rain chances. Isolated to widespread thunderstorms are possible, mainly across southern areas, with rain chances ranging from 10% to 80%. Highs will reach 86 to 92 degrees. Areas north of I 4 should see lower rain chances during the afternoon as drier air moves in.
Thunderstorms become more widespread again Thursday and Friday. Rain chances run from 40% to 80% Thursday and 60% to 80% Friday.
Residents should plan outdoor activities around changing thunderstorm conditions throughout the week, particularly where storms become widespread. The Weather Service rates the overall daily impact as low through Friday.
