TALLAHASSEE, FL — North Florida is heading toward November with sunshine, cool mornings and afternoon temperatures approaching 80 degrees. Tallahassee's latest National Weather Service forecast shows an extended stretch of pleasant autumn conditions before NOAA's next eight to 14 day outlook period begins Oct. 26 and continues through Nov. 1.
According to NOAA's Climate Prediction Center, the extended outlook issued Oct. 18 covers average temperatures and total precipitation from Oct. 26 through Nov. 1, 2026. The outlook is intended to identify whether conditions are more likely to finish above, near or below seasonal averages. Florida's specific probability categories require confirmation from the corresponding temperature and precipitation maps.
Tallahassee Approaches 80 Degrees This Week The National Weather Service office in Tallahassee forecasts sunshine throughout much of the week, with afternoon highs ranging from the middle to upper 70s.
Monday, Oct. 19, should reach approximately 75 degrees, accompanied by northeast winds of 10 to 15 mph.
Temperatures are expected to fall to around 47 degrees Monday night, creating a noticeable difference between afternoon warmth and early morning conditions.
Tuesday should bring sunshine and a high near 76 degrees, followed by another cool night with temperatures around 49 degrees.
Wednesday is forecast to reach 79 degrees, potentially making it the warmest afternoon of the immediate forecast period.
Thursday should remain sunny with a high near 78 degrees, while Friday and Saturday are expected to reach approximately 77 degrees.
Sunday's forecast calls for sunshine and a high around 76 degrees.
At Tallahassee International Airport, temperatures were 59 degrees at 3:53 a.m. EDT Monday, with fair skies and northeast winds near 10 mph.
Florida's Regional Weather Differences Matter Florida's fall weather can vary considerably between the Panhandle, northern interior, central peninsula and southern coastal communities.
Tallahassee's forecast highlights the cooling influence of longer autumn nights, with several overnight lows in the upper 40s and lower 50s.
Farther south, coastal waters and the surrounding Gulf and Atlantic Ocean can moderate nighttime temperature changes.
These geographic differences are important when interpreting statewide temperature outlooks. A probability favoring unusual warmth in one region does not necessarily establish the same conditions throughout Florida.
Separately, the National Weather Service's Weather Prediction Center said in its Oct. 19 discussion that a weak frontal boundary and persistent easterly Atlantic flow could produce scattered showers and thunderstorms across portions of the Florida Peninsula through Tuesday, Oct. 20.
That near term precipitation potential is geographically separate from Tallahassee's predominantly sunny forecast and does not establish rainfall conditions for Oct. 26–Nov. 1.
What Happens as November Begins? The approaching November transition raises an important question for North Florida: Will the region continue experiencing relatively warm afternoons, or will seasonal cooling become more noticeable?
NOAA's extended outlook is designed to help assess that broader pattern, although the supplied Tallahassee forecast does not provide daily temperatures beyond Sunday, Oct. 25.
The Oct. 26–Nov. 1 temperature and precipitation categories must be checked against CPC's corresponding maps before determining whether above normal warmth or unusual dryness is favored.
Residents should watch for updated forecasts as the period approaches, particularly for changes in nighttime temperatures and rain chances.
Would you prefer another week of sunny, nearly 80 degree afternoons, or are you ready for cooler November weather in Florida?
