Tallahassee, FL – Residents across the Florida Panhandle, Big Bend and neighboring southern Georgia could see a significant change in weather this Halloween weekend, with rain chances increasing Saturday, Oct. 31, and reaching as high as 60% in some communities Sunday, Nov. 1.
According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, dry weather is expected to continue through early Saturday before a wetter pattern develops across the region.
The forecast shows little to no chance of precipitation Wednesday through Friday for most communities, providing several days of favorable conditions for travel and outdoor activities.
By Halloween Saturday, rain chances begin increasing, although the timing and coverage of showers remain uncertain.
Tallahassee currently has a 25% chance of rain Saturday, while Panama City and Apalachicola have probabilities of 30% and 20%, respectively.
Farther north, Dothan, Alabama, and Albany, Georgia, could see rain chances reach 40%.
The greatest increase arrives Sunday as November begins.
Tallahassee's rain probability rises to 60% Sunday, with similar chances forecast for Perry, Florida, and several southern Georgia communities, including Valdosta and Bainbridge.
Panama City and Apalachicola are expected to have a 50% chance of rain Sunday.
The unsettled pattern could continue beyond the weekend.
The National Weather Service highlighted a broader six to 10 day precipitation outlook covering Nov. 2 6, indicating an increased likelihood of above normal precipitation across much of the southeastern United States.
That outlook suggests the first week of November could be wetter than normal, although it does not specify exact rainfall totals.
Residents planning Halloween celebrations should monitor updated forecasts, particularly as Saturday's rain timing becomes clearer.
Drivers may encounter wet roads and reduced visibility where showers develop Sunday.
The forecast represents a shift toward wetter conditions, not an official severe weather warning.
