Florida — A crisp November chill is settling into Tallahassee, but afternoon sunshine will soon bring a noticeable temperature turnaround. Residents face a 29 degree difference between the coolest nighttime reading and Monday's expected high.
According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, temperatures will reach 75 degrees Saturday afternoon before falling to approximately 50 degrees Saturday night.
That cooling trend brings a distinctly fall like feel to Florida's capital, especially for residents heading outdoors during the evening.
The latest outlook shows mostly dry conditions through Veterans Day, with afternoon temperatures climbing toward 80 degrees.
Cool Nights Give Way to Warmer Afternoons Sunday brings mostly sunny skies and a high near 77 degrees. Light northerly winds should become calm, providing comfortable conditions for outdoor activities.
Temperatures fall to around 52 degrees Sunday night.
By Monday, sunshine pushes afternoon readings toward 79 degrees before temperatures retreat to approximately 51 degrees Monday night.
That creates a 28 degree temperature swing within Monday's daytime to nighttime cycle.
Residents should consider keeping a light jacket nearby, particularly for early commutes and evening activities.
The changing temperatures also provide an opportunity for fall yard cleanup before additional seasonal cooling arrives later in November.
Tuesday Brings a Small Rain Chance Tuesday continues the warmer pattern with mostly sunny skies and highs near 79 degrees.
However, meteorologists are tracking a slight opportunity for showers after 1 a.m. Wednesday.
The National Weather Service places precipitation chances at just 20%, suggesting most neighborhoods will remain dry.
Wednesday, Veterans Day, should bring mostly sunny conditions with highs around 77 degrees.
Drivers traveling Interstate 10, U.S. 27 or other Tallahassee area roadways should generally encounter favorable weather conditions.
Any isolated shower could briefly dampen pavement, but widespread travel disruptions are not indicated.
What About Freezing Temperatures or Severe Storms? Despite the cooler evenings, temperatures remain well above freezing throughout the five day outlook.
No snow, ice or flash freezing conditions are indicated for Tallahassee.
The supplied outlook also identifies no specific tornado threat for the area.
Nationally, the Weather Prediction Center is monitoring heavier rainfall across southern Texas, but that system does not signal comparable rainfall for Tallahassee.
For now, the biggest local weather story remains the contrast between crisp evenings and increasingly warm afternoons.
