Putnam County, FL – Four people were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop Tuesday night led deputies to allegedly discover methamphetamine, cocaine and other suspected narcotics inside a vehicle in northeast Florida.
According to the Putnam County Sheriff ’s Office, deputies stopped a vehicle driven by Rocky Shuman, 41, of Keystone Heights , after he allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign. Authorities said Shuman admitted he was driving with a suspended license.
During a search, deputies allegedly found methamphetamine on Shuman. A subsequent vehicle search reportedly uncovered cocaine and what the sheriff’s office described as trafficking amounts of methamphetamine inside a cup in the center console.
Deputies also reported finding drug paraphernalia and suspected narcotics in containers allegedly held by passengers.
Brandy Cain, 48, of Florahome , identified by authorities as the vehicle’s owner, was sitting near the container containing the methamphetamine and cocaine, the sheriff’s office said. Cain was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and several additional drug related offenses. Her bond was set at $38,500 .
Passenger Kierstyn Yarboro, 27, of Florahome , allegedly had small bags containing suspected drugs in a milkshake container. Deputies said one substance presumptively tested positive for fentanyl. Yarboro faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, drug equipment possession and a probation violation. She was being held without bond.
Justin Palerino, 34, of Florahome , was allegedly holding burnt tinfoil that deputies said is commonly associated with narcotics use. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and drug equipment possession and was held on $3,000 bond .
Shuman faces similar possession and drug equipment charges and was also held on $3,000 bond .
The allegations remain pending in court, and the charges do not constitute findings of guilt.
