Palm Bay, FL – Authorities in Brevard County are searching for a woman considered armed and dangerous following a shooting at a Public Storage facility on Babcock Street, just north of Palm Bay Road, that left a facility manager wounded.
According to the Brevard County Sheriff 's Office, investigators have identified the suspected shooter as Kandice Jo Pierce, who had recently rented a storage unit at the facility. Deputies said Pierce was inside the unit with another adult woman when the shooting occurred.
Investigators initially knew who had rented the storage unit but needed to locate the second woman to determine who allegedly possessed the firearm and shot the facility manager.
Following their investigation, authorities identified Pierce as the suspected shooter.
Attempted Murder Warrant Being Pursued
The Sheriff's Office said investigators were working with the Brevard County State Attorney's Office to finalize an attempted first degree murder warrant for Pierce.
Authorities also confirmed that Pierce was already wanted on an arson warrant stemming from an unrelated case.
Sheriff Wayne Ivey warned residents that Pierce should be considered armed and dangerous as deputies continue searching for her.
Last Known Location and Public Safety Warning
According to investigators, Pierce was last seen on surveillance video at a RaceTrac convenience store on Palm Bay Road at approximately 1:30 p.m. on the day of the shooting.
Authorities urged residents throughout Palm Bay and surrounding Brevard County communities to remain alert and avoid approaching Pierce if they encounter her.
