North Fort Myers, FL – A man has been arrested after Lee County deputies say he allegedly recorded people inside restroom stalls at a North Fort Myers truck stop.
According to the Lee County Sheriff ’s Office , deputies responded Wednesday to a truck stop on Park 78 Drive after receiving reports that a suspect was filming over bathroom stall partitions in the men’s restroom.
Deputies said they made contact with David Floyd in the parking lot after arriving at the business.
During the investigation, authorities allegedly found a video on Floyd’s phone showing him inside a restroom stall while using his phone to record a person in a neighboring stall. Investigators said the phone was allegedly positioned both underneath and over the stall partition.
The sheriff’s office said deputies discovered several additional videos containing similar content on the phone.
Authorities detained Floyd while continuing the investigation.
Deputies also said they allegedly found methamphetamine and a glass pipe , along with other items, in Floyd’s possession.
Floyd was arrested and charged with digital voyeurism, possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence , according to the sheriff’s office.
The department did not provide additional information in its announcement about how many people may have been recorded or whether investigators believe additional victims could be identified from the videos.
The case remains based on allegations released by law enforcement. Floyd is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
