Miami, Florida – Showers and thunderstorms will linger across South Florida tonight, with rain chances reaching 70% around Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
According to the National Weather Service in Miami, showers and thunderstorms will become less widespread this evening and overnight but remain possible, mainly along coastal South Florida.
Miami and Fort Lauderdale have a 60% to 70% chance of rain tonight. Rain chances range from 50% to 60% around West Palm Beach and Naples.
The storms could affect evening and overnight travel along the densely populated Atlantic coast, including the Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach areas. Drivers should be prepared for changing conditions where showers or thunderstorms persist.
Temperatures will remain warm overnight despite the rain. Miami is expected to fall to between 76 and 78 degrees, while Fort Lauderdale will reach 75 to 77. West Palm Beach will drop to between 74 and 76 degrees.
On the Gulf Coast, Naples will see lows ranging from 75 to 77 degrees. Other parts of South Florida will primarily fall into the 70s, keeping temperatures near seasonal norms.
Residents with evening plans should continue to monitor conditions, particularly along the coast where showers and thunderstorms will remain possible through the overnight hours. Outdoor activities could face interruptions where storms develop.
Rain coverage should gradually decrease tonight rather than end abruptly. Coastal communities will retain the greatest concern into the overnight hours, with Miami and Fort Lauderdale carrying rain chances as high as 70%.
