Melbourne, FL – Residents across east central Florida face continued flooding concerns Tuesday morning as additional showers and locally heavy downpours threaten already waterlogged communities, while hazardous surf and boating conditions persist along the Atlantic coast.
According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, a Flood Watch remains in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, for portions of east central Florida, including coastal areas and Okeechobee County.
Heavy Rain Could Worsen Ongoing Flooding Forecasters expect scattered to numerous showers throughout Tuesday, with some producing heavy downpours capable of worsening existing flooding.
Additional rainfall could create problems along low lying roads, drainage areas and locations where standing water remains from earlier storms.
The National Weather Service is urging drivers not to enter flooded roadways, emphasizing that water depth can be difficult to determine.
Rain chances Tuesday range from approximately 30% around Daytona Beach to 60% in parts of the Orlando and Sanford areas.
Melbourne and Okeechobee have rain probabilities near 50%, with daytime temperatures generally reaching the lower to middle 80s.
Dangerous Beach and Boating Conditions Continue Beyond the flooding concerns, persistent breezy easterly winds are expected to produce hazardous boating and surf conditions along Florida's Atlantic coastline.
The National Weather Service advises residents and visitors to stay out of the ocean while dangerous conditions persist.
Beachgoers, boaters and coastal residents should monitor marine forecasts and any additional advisories before heading outdoors.
Despite occasional sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures, Tuesday's weather remains unsettled across much of the region.
Residents should remain alert for changing conditions, particularly during heavier showers that could quickly reduce visibility and worsen standing water.
