Jacksonville, FL – Rising coastal water threatens to flood roads, homes and businesses across Jacksonville early Sunday, Oct. 11. Residents in vulnerable waterfront neighborhoods could face road closures and dangerous travel conditions before sunrise.
According to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, a Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect for coastal Duval County until 6 a.m. Sunday. Significant coastal flooding could inundate low lying property, including homes, businesses and critical infrastructure.

A Coastal Flood Advisory takes effect at 6 a.m. Sunday and continues until 5 p.m., with minor coastal flooding still possible.
Meanwhile, a High Rip Current Risk remains in effect through late Sunday night. Dangerous currents could sweep even experienced swimmers away from shore.
Beachgoers should swim near lifeguards and avoid entering hazardous surf.
Jacksonville also faces a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms Sunday, mainly before 10 a.m. Temperatures should reach 85 degrees, with west winds gusting to 20 mph.
Rainfall totals should generally remain below one tenth of an inch, although thunderstorms could produce higher amounts.
