CHARLOTTE, N.C. — November is beginning with a steady warming trend across Charlotte, with temperatures expected to climb from the upper 60s Sunday into the mid to upper 70s by Tuesday through Thursday before a wetter period develops.
The National Weather Service forecast for Charlotte calls for a high near 67 Sunday, Nov. 1, followed by 71 Monday. Temperatures then rise to around 76 Tuesday and 77 Wednesday and Thursday, with another mild day near 76 Friday. Saturday remains warm for early November with a high around 74.
70s Take Over by Monday Sunday remains mostly cloudy, but conditions begin improving Monday as clouds decrease and temperatures climb into the lower 70s.
Tuesday turns sunny with a high near 76, followed by partly sunny skies Wednesday and a high near 77.
Overnight temperatures also trend milder. Sunday night falls to around 50, followed by 49 Monday night and 55 Tuesday night. Wednesday night is expected to remain much warmer around 60.
The local pattern therefore shifts quickly from a cool, cloudy start to November into several days of increasingly mild weather.
Rain Returns Wednesday Night The first meaningful rain chance appears Wednesday night, when the Weather Service lists a 40% chance of rain after 1 a.m.
Thursday becomes the wettest period in the current forecast, with rain likely mainly before 1 p.m. and a 60% precipitation chance . Despite the rain, temperatures remain mild with a high near 77.
Rain chances decrease Thursday night to around 30%, followed by partly sunny skies Friday and a high near 76. Saturday currently looks mostly sunny with a high around 74.
Warm November Pattern Remains Favored The local forecast fits the broader November temperature pattern across North Carolina and the Southeast.
NOAA's November outlook generally favors above normal temperatures across the region, while the Climate Prediction Center's Nov. 8–14 guidance continues to lean warm across much of the Southeast, although the signal weakens closer to the Atlantic coast.
That makes temperature the stronger extended story for Charlotte. The CPC guidance does not mean every day through Nov. 14 will reach the 70s, but it does keep the overall pattern tilted warmer than normal.
Precipitation offers a less dramatic extended signal, with much of the Southeast outside Florida closer to near normal precipitation during Nov. 8–14.
For Charlotte, the first week message is straightforward: 70s arrive Monday, highs reach 76–77 Tuesday through Friday, and rain briefly interrupts the warm stretch Wednesday night into Thursday.
It is still too early for a specific Thanksgiving Day forecast on Nov. 26, but the persistent warmth will be worth watching as North Carolina moves toward the holiday travel season.
When do you expect Charlotte to get its first real taste of winter?
