Windham, CT – Connecticut State Police are asking residents across eastern Connecticut to help identify a pickup truck driver accused of fleeing after striking two dirt bike riders, leaving both injured and hospitalized following a crash in Windham.
According to Connecticut State Police Troop K in Colchester, the collision occurred Sunday, October 4, 2026, at approximately 7 p.m. along Boston Post Road in the town of Windham, near the Willimantic area.
Investigators said two individuals riding dirt bikes were struck from behind by a pickup truck.
Both riders suffered multiple injuries and were transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have not released additional details about their conditions.
Police said the driver allegedly fled the crash scene, continuing westbound toward Willimantic.
Investigators believe the vehicle involved was a dark colored Dodge Ram pickup truck equipped with two orange lights on the front.
The vehicle was reportedly operated by a male driver, although authorities have not released a more detailed description.
State police said a witness provided dashcam footage related to the collision. Investigators also obtained a still image of the suspected pickup truck during a neighborhood canvass.
Troop K is now requesting assistance from anyone who witnessed the crash, observed a vehicle matching the description or possesses surveillance or dashcam footage from the area.
