Pueblo, CO – Halloween weekend across southern Colorado could begin with cooler temperatures and scattered showers as a weak weather system moves into the region Friday, October 30, although conditions may improve before Saturday evening's trick or treating activities.
According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, dry weather and temperatures at or above seasonal averages will continue through Thursday before a shift toward cooler, more unsettled conditions arrives late in the week.
Wednesday, October 28, will feature generally dry conditions, with temperatures varying considerably across southern Colorado's plains, valleys and mountain communities.
By Thursday, October 29, Pueblo is expected to reach approximately 66 degrees, while Colorado Springs could climb to 64 degrees.
Farther east, La Junta may reach 67 degrees, with Trinidad approaching 70 degrees.
The approaching weather system will bring slightly cooler conditions Friday, October 30, along with increasing opportunities for scattered showers.
Friday highs are forecast near 62 degrees in Pueblo and Colorado Springs, while La Junta could reach 63 degrees.
The cooler pattern continues into Halloween on Saturday, October 31 , with temperatures expected to remain in the upper 50s and lower 60s across many communities.
Pueblo could reach 62 degrees Saturday, while Colorado Springs is forecast near 59 degrees.
Rain chances will continue into Saturday, although the National Weather Service expects precipitation to gradually diminish before Halloween evening.
That timing could provide a favorable window for families planning trick or treating, costume parties and other outdoor celebrations.
However, the potential for showers means residents should monitor local forecasts, particularly in mountain communities where temperatures will be cooler.
The weather system is not currently expected to bring widespread heavy precipitation.
Residents across Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Cañon City, Trinidad and surrounding southern Colorado communities should prepare for a cooler finish to the week.
