Grand Junction, CO – Residents across western Colorado can expect a relatively quiet stretch of November weather beginning Friday, November 6, although isolated rain and snow showers in the mountains and patchy valley fog could create localized travel concerns before warmer conditions arrive this weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction, a few isolated rain and snow showers are possible over higher terrain Friday, but significant accumulations and widespread impacts are not anticipated.
Forecasters expect generally calm weather to follow, with temperatures remaining near or slightly above seasonal averages through much of the upcoming week.
Friday's forecast calls for highs near 59 degrees in Grand Junction, 55 degrees in Durango and 54 degrees in Montrose.
Higher elevation communities will remain cooler, with Aspen reaching approximately 48 degrees, Gunnison near 46 degrees and Telluride around 42 degrees.
The National Weather Service also identifies valley fog as a potential concern for morning commuters.
Drivers traveling through valleys should remain alert for sudden reductions in visibility, particularly during the early morning hours when fog may develop.
Conditions are expected to improve heading into Saturday, November 7, with mostly dry weather across the region.
By Sunday, temperatures will climb into the lower 60s in several communities.
Grand Junction is forecast to reach 60 degrees, while Durango and Moab could reach 62 degrees.
Aspen may warm to 58 degrees Sunday before reaching approximately 60 degrees Monday.
The warmer pattern is expected to continue into early next week, with Grand Junction forecast to remain near 59 to 60 degrees through Thursday.
Montrose, Cortez and Rifle should also experience relatively steady temperatures, generally ranging from the middle 50s to lower 60s.
The extended outlook offers favorable conditions for many outdoor activities and regional travel, although changing conditions remain possible in mountainous terrain.
Residents traveling through higher elevations should continue monitoring localized forecasts for precipitation and fog.
