Estes Park, CO – Authorities in northern Colorado are asking for the public's help locating a 28 year old man who remains missing after his pickup truck was discovered abandoned in a residential neighborhood near Estes Park earlier this month. Despite a coordinated search involving deputies, rescue teams and trained search dogs, investigators have been unable to determine where he went.
According to the Larimer County Sheriff 's Office, deputies received a report in early October about an abandoned GMC Sierra parked in the 700 block of Goblins Castle Road in the Estes Valley area.
Investigators identified the truck's registered owner as Mark Thiebaut Jr., 28, of Grand Lake, Colorado.
Deputies determined that Thiebaut had rented a nearby vacation home, which had since been occupied by new visitors.
When investigators contacted his family, relatives expressed concerns about his welfare and reported they had not heard from him in more than a week.
Authorities confirmed that Thiebaut parked his truck in the neighborhood in early October. However, investigators have found no additional evidence indicating where he traveled afterward or what may have happened.
The Sheriff's Office reported finding no evidence of foul play.
A coordinated search involved Larimer County investigators, patrol deputies, emergency services personnel, Larimer Regional All Hazard/Crisis Response team members, Larimer County Search and Rescue volunteers, trained search dogs and UCHealth medical personnel.
Despite those efforts, search teams were unable to locate Thiebaut.
Officials said organized search efforts were suspended because of limited information about his possible whereabouts or intended destination. Investigators will continue following up on new leads as they become available.
Anyone with information about Mark Thiebaut Jr.'s location, recent movements or intended travel plans is urged to contact Investigator Brent Manley at 970 498 5336.
The investigation remains open as authorities seek information that could help locate the missing man.
