DENVER, CO – Halloween celebrations across Colorado will come with a noticeable evening chill Saturday, Oct. 31, as temperatures drop into the 30s in mountain communities and the 40s to 50s across the foothills and eastern plains. Some higher elevations could also experience light rain or snow showers.
According to the National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder, conditions will vary significantly by elevation, with generally pleasant daytime weather across the plains but colder temperatures developing after sunset.
Mountain Snow Showers Possible Halloween Evening Colorado's mountain communities face the coldest conditions, with daytime highs expected to reach the 40s and 50s.
Evening temperatures are forecast to fall into the 30s and 40s, accompanied by a chance of light rain or snow showers.
While significant snowfall is not indicated in the forecast, residents and visitors traveling through higher elevations should prepare for chilly conditions and potentially wet roads where precipitation develops.
Denver Area and Eastern Plains Cool After Sunset Across the Front Range foothills, afternoon temperatures will reach the 50s and 60s before dropping into the 40s during Halloween evening activities.
Farther east, including the Denver metropolitan area and surrounding plains, daytime highs are expected to reach the 60s.
Temperatures will gradually cool into the 40s and 50s after dark, creating noticeably colder conditions for families participating in trick or treating.
The National Weather Service describes the plains forecast as pleasant overall, with no widespread rain or snow expected in those lower elevation areas.
Families planning outdoor activities should consider jackets or additional warm clothing beneath Halloween costumes, particularly for children remaining outside later in the evening.
Drivers traveling between the plains and mountains should also remember that temperatures can change considerably with elevation.
