Denver, CO – Residents across Denver and the surrounding Front Range can expect an unusually warm October weekend before a noticeable temperature change arrives next week. Afternoon highs are forecast to fall from 84 degrees Saturday to just 64 degrees Thursday, marking a 20 degree cooldown in less than a week.
According to the National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder, mostly quiet weather and warm temperatures are expected through at least Monday, October 12. Cooler conditions and increasing precipitation chances are anticipated by the middle of next week.
Saturday will bring a forecast high of 84 degrees in Denver, with partly cloudy skies. Sunday remains warm at 82 degrees, while Monday is expected to reach 81 degrees under mostly sunny skies.
The transition begins Tuesday, when afternoon temperatures are forecast to drop to 72 degrees. By Wednesday, highs are expected to reach only 66 degrees, followed by 64 degrees Thursday.
That represents a significant shift from the weekend's summerlike warmth to more seasonable fall conditions.
For residents in Denver, Adams County, Arapahoe County, Jefferson County and surrounding communities, the changing forecast could affect outdoor activities, commuting conditions and clothing choices throughout the week.
Although precipitation chances are expected to increase by midweek, the weather service's posted outlook does not specify rainfall totals, precipitation probabilities or exact timing.
Drivers should monitor updated forecasts as the cooler pattern approaches, particularly if traveling across the Front Range or into higher elevations where weather conditions can differ considerably.
For now, Saturday through Monday offers the warmest stretch of the forecast, giving residents several opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities before cooler temperatures arrive.
