Denver, CO – A sharp weather change is approaching the Denver metropolitan area this weekend, with temperatures expected to plunge from an unusually warm 81 degrees Friday, October 23, to just 58 degrees Saturday, October 24. The 23 degree difference in afternoon highs will bring a noticeable shift across the Front Range, accompanied by increasing chances for showers and much cooler overnight temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, Denver will experience mostly sunny conditions through Friday before a cooler, more unsettled pattern arrives Saturday. The forecast includes breezy conditions Friday, with southwest winds reaching 10 to 17 mph and gusts as high as 28 mph.
Warm Friday Gives Way to a Chilly Weekend The biggest change will arrive between Friday and Saturday as afternoon temperatures fall more than 20 degrees.
Friday's projected high of 81 degrees will provide a warm finish to the workweek, but residents planning outdoor activities Saturday should prepare for temperatures struggling to reach the upper 50s.
Saturday also brings a 30% chance of showers, with additional rain chances continuing into Sunday and Monday.
The cooler pattern will affect Denver and nearby communities across the metropolitan area, including Aurora, Lakewood, Littleton and surrounding portions of Adams, Arapahoe and Jefferson counties. Exact temperatures and precipitation chances may vary outside the Denver forecast location.

NOAA Outlook Favors Additional Moisture NOAA's Climate Prediction Center outlook for October 28 through November 3 favors above normal precipitation across Colorado, including the Denver region.
The temperature outlook also favors above normal temperatures across much of Colorado during that period, suggesting the immediate weekend cooldown may not represent a prolonged colder than normal pattern.
These extended outlooks reflect probabilities for multiday conditions rather than specific rainfall totals or guaranteed daily temperatures.
What Residents Should Expect Residents should consider adjusting weekend outdoor plans for cooler temperatures and possible showers, particularly Saturday and Sunday.
While the supplied Denver forecast does not indicate snow or freezing temperatures in the city, the substantial temperature change makes checking updated forecasts worthwhile before traveling into the nearby mountains.
