Air Quality Concerns Denver, CO – Residents across the Denver metro area are being urged to limit outdoor activity and vehicle use as the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has issued an Ozone Action Day alert effective through midnight.
The alert is in response to high concentrations of ground level ozone, which can cause respiratory issues, particularly for children, the elderly, and those with pre existing conditions like asthma.
Recommended Precautions Officials are requesting that residents reduce trips in personal vehicles, combine errands, and avoid refueling their cars during the daylight hours, as heat and sunlight contribute to the formation of ozone. Additionally, residents are encouraged to avoid using gasoline powered lawn equipment.
