This year’s Collector Con will feature a guest appearance by Brian Colin, creator of the Rampage and Rampage: World Tour. Colin was inducted into the International Video Game Hall of Fame in 2019.

“I received a special request to see if Santa could make a stop in the City of Kankakee before Christmas which led to our team planning this event. We are excited to bring this event to the community for the first time and we expect a good turnout. I’m really looking forward to seeing the joy on all of the kids’ faces,” said Mayor Wells-Armstrong.

Kanopy is an award-winning video streaming service that provides access to more than 30,000 independent and documentary films as well as children’s programming and television series.

Winners of the tournaments receive custom trophies and a cash prize. Mario Kart's winners from this past month included Lee LaMontagne who finished 3rd, Hans Vallejo who finished 2nd and Alena Stasiak who was the winner of the tournament along with a $200.00 cash prize

Join the Kankakee Public Library for our monthly book discussion group, Soul Collections. This group reviews a wide range of book selections that specifically spotlights African-American authors and themes. October’s selection will be The Deal, the Dance, and the Devil by Victoria Christopher Murray. This event will be held on Thursday, October 24that 6:30 p.m. All books reviewed may be checked out at the Circulation desk of the Kankakee Public Library.
