York County, ME – A Maine woman has been sentenced to 20 years behind bars following a terrifying armed home invasion in Parsonsfield, where investigators say she entered a residence wearing a camouflage mask, attacked the homeowner and fired a gun during a violent struggle.
According to the York County Sheriff 's Office, 45 year old Kinley MacDonald of York was convicted by a jury Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, at the York Judicial Center in Biddeford. She was found guilty of burglary, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and assault.
The charges stemmed from an August 2022 incident in Parsonsfield, a York County community northwest of the Portland metropolitan area.
Investigators determined that MacDonald entered the victim's home after midnight while carrying a revolver and duct tape and wearing a camouflage mask.
A violent confrontation followed when the homeowner encountered the intruder.
Authorities said MacDonald bit the victim multiple times during the struggle and discharged the revolver, sending a bullet through a wall.
She then fled the residence, leaving behind the firearm and duct tape.
Detectives later connected MacDonald to the crime through DNA recovered from the gun and the victim's bite marks. The evidence was matched following her arrest by Boston police in Massachusetts on a York County warrant.
Investigators also discovered that MacDonald had allegedly been secretly prowling around the residence for three consecutive days before the invasion. Security footage captured the suspicious activity.
Authorities further reported finding posts MacDonald made under an alias in a private Facebook group in which she admitted to the break in.
MacDonald received a 28 year prison sentence, with all but 20 years suspended.
Following her incarceration, she will also serve eight years of probation.
The case highlights how forensic evidence, surveillance footage and online activity helped investigators establish what happened during the violent home invasion.
