Wichita, Kansas – Storm chances return Thursday and continue Friday across the region, with temperatures climbing into the 80s ahead of a warmer weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, near normal temperatures will continue through Thursday before a warming trend begins this weekend. Scattered showers and storms are expected to return Thursday and continue into the weekend.
Tonight will remain quiet, with temperatures falling to between 55 and 58 degrees across central, south central and southeast Kansas.
Wednesday will bring partly cloudy conditions and highs from 79 to 83 degrees. Temperatures Wednesday night will drop to between 56 and 62.
Rain chances increase Thursday as scattered showers develop across the region. Highs will range from 78 to 85 degrees. Thunderstorms are possible Thursday night as temperatures remain milder, with lows from 60 to 65.
Storm chances continue Friday. The NWS outlook shows thunderstorms possible during the day and again Friday night. Afternoon temperatures will reach 81 to 86 degrees before falling to between 63 and 65 overnight.
Residents with outdoor plans should monitor conditions beginning Thursday, particularly as thunderstorms return. Drivers should also be prepared for changing road conditions where heavier showers or storms develop.
