DEARBORN, MI – A driver from Dearborn Heights has died following a single vehicle crash in Dearborn on Thursday morning, November 5, with investigators identifying speed as a possible contributing factor in the fatal collision.
According to the Dearborn Police Department , officers encountered the crash at approximately 8:23 a.m. near the intersection of Monroe Street and Beech Street.
Driver Loses Control in Fatal Morning Crash Preliminary findings indicate the driver lost control of the vehicle before crashing.
Dearborn Fire/Rescue personnel responded and transported the injured driver to a local hospital, where the individual was pronounced dead.
Police confirmed the driver was a resident of neighboring Dearborn Heights but did not release the victim's name, age or additional identifying information in the initial announcement.
The crash occurred in Dearborn, a Wayne County community within the Detroit metropolitan area.
Speed Suspected as Contributing Factor Investigators believe speed may have played a role in the crash, although the circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
Authorities have not disclosed how fast the vehicle was traveling or what specifically caused the driver to lose control.

Dearborn Police Continue Investigation Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin acknowledged the fatal crash and expressed condolences to the victim's family.
"This is a terrible tragedy, and we extend our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim," Shahin said.
Police have not released additional details about the vehicle or the circumstances immediately preceding the crash.
