Cumberland County, VA – An urgent search is underway for a 2 year old girl reported missing in Cumberland County, with Virginia State Police issuing a CODI Alert after authorities determined her disappearance poses a credible threat to her health and safety.
According to Virginia State Police, the alert was issued on behalf of the Cumberland County Sheriff 's Office late Thursday, Sept. 24, for Bridget Maeve Zeigler , who was last seen at approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Authorities said Bridget disappeared from the Hidden Valley Road area of Cumberland County and is believed to be on foot.
Police describe the child as 2 feet tall and approximately 30 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing an orange dress, a blue coat and white sneakers.
The CODI Alert program is used in Virginia for certain missing or endangered people when authorities determine circumstances meet the state's criteria for an alert.
The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is leading the search, while Virginia State Police are assisting by distributing information about the missing child.
