Virginia Beach, VA A sharp autumn cooldown will bring a dramatic change to Virginia Beach this weekend, with temperatures falling from the mid 80s Friday to the lower 60s Saturday as showers and windy conditions give way to sunshine.
According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, Virginia Beach is expected to reach 85 degrees Friday before afternoon highs drop to just 62 degrees Saturday. The 23 degree decline will mark a significant shift following unusually warm October conditions across portions of the Mid Atlantic.
The transition will also bring breezy weather and a chance of lingering showers early Saturday before drier conditions settle in.
Windy Saturday Follows Friday Night Rain Friday will begin with sunshine and unusually warm temperatures, accompanied by southwest winds of 11 to 15 mph and gusts reaching 24 mph.
Conditions will change Friday night as showers become likely, mainly before 2 a.m. The National Weather Service places the chance of precipitation at 70%, with breezy conditions and temperatures falling toward 56 degrees.

The cooler weather will continue Saturday night, with mostly clear skies, breezy conditions and temperatures dropping to around 53 degrees.
The sharp temperature change follows a broader weather pattern highlighted by NOAA, which expects strong Canadian high pressure to bring considerably cooler conditions into much of the central United States late this week.

Sunshine Returns as Temperatures Recover Sunday will offer a quieter stretch of weather, with sunshine and afternoon highs near 62 degrees.
