Tumwater, WA – The Thurston County Sheriff ’s Office released a brief status report on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, regarding an ongoing investigation into a use of deadly force incident. The incident occurred on July 29, 2026, in the vicinity of Cedar Place and Meadowood Drive in Elma, Washington.
According to Sgt. Mickey Hamilton, the update is provided as part of a weekly review requirement mandated by Washington Administrative Code WAC 139 12 030. The Sheriff's Office indicated that there is no new information available for release at this time, and the investigation into the officer involved shooting remains active.
