Researchers are examining stress granules—temporary cellular structures linked to ALS, frontotemporal dementia and Alzheimer’s disease—to understand how they may contribute to nerve cell damage. A new $3.4 million NIH grant extends the five year project led by Rohit Pappu and Tanja Mittag, supporting deeper investigation into disease mechanisms that could inform future treatments.
