Snohomish, WA – Deputies wrangle escaped goat in neighborhood

Snohomish, Washington – On August 28, 2026, at approximately 9:37 p.m., deputies from the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a neighborhood following reports of an escaped goat. According to law enforcement, the animal was behaving aggressively, attempting to ram nearby residents and preventing them from leaving their homes.

The goat, described as having horns approximately one foot long, had reportedly taken its temporary freedom quite seriously, acting as a "neighborhood menace." Residents remained safely inside their residences while awaiting assistance from local authorities to address the situation.

Upon arrival, Deputy Pavlina and Sergeant Whipple took charge of the scene. The officers were able to effectively wrangle the animal and guide it back into its pen. Thanks to the deputies' intervention, both the goat and the surrounding residents remained safe and unharmed.

The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office noted that while their duties often involve more traditional law enforcement tasks, they occasionally respond to calls that are anything but ordinary. The successful securement of the goat stands as a lighthearted example of the diverse range of interesting situations officers manage during their shifts.
