LeClaire, IA — A 30 year old LeClaire man has been arrested on 10 felony charges following an investigation into suspected child sexual abuse material, according to the Scott County Sheriff's Office.
According to the sheriff's office, investigators received information from the Internet Crimes Against Children ICAC program concerning an individual in the area who was allegedly possessing or distributing illegal images involving minors.
On Friday, October 2, deputies and officers from the LeClaire Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Dodge Street in LeClaire, located in Scott County near the Quad Cities metropolitan area.
During the search, investigators seized electronic devices from the home for forensic examination.
Authorities reported discovering a large number of images and videos depicting minors engaged in sexual acts during the examination of those devices.
Following the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Austin Howland Dana, 30, of LeClaire, on 10 counts of purchase or possession of a depiction of a minor in a sex act under Iowa Code 728.12 3 C .
Dana was taken into custody at his residence and transported to the Scott County Jail.
The sheriff's office said the investigation involved assistance from the LeClaire Police Department and the Internet Crimes Against Children program.
