Scott County, IA – Two young men were killed Saturday in a two vehicle crash at a rural intersection in Scott County, according to an updated release from the sheriff's office .
According to the Scott County Sheriff's Office, the fatal collision occurred Saturday, Sept. 26, at the intersection of 210th Avenue and 287th Street near McCausland in eastern Iowa.
Authorities identified the driver of a white 2009 Mazda as Jace Geissinger, 19, of McCausland . His passenger was identified as Nolan Crowell, 18, of Davenport .
Both Geissinger and Crowell were pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff's office said.
The second vehicle involved was a 2011 Chevrolet Impala driven by a 17 year old male from Clinton. Investigators said three passengers were inside the Impala, correcting an earlier report that indicated there were two passengers.
Those occupants included Sydney Davis, 19, of Clinton , along with a 17 year old male and a 16 year old female, both also from Clinton. Authorities did not identify the two juvenile passengers.
The sheriff's office did not provide additional information in Monday's update about injuries to the Impala occupants or describe what investigators believe caused the vehicles to collide.
Officials said the case remains under investigation and that no further details were being released at this time.
The crash occurred in northern Scott County, northwest of the Quad Cities and near the McCausland area.
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision as the sheriff's office works to determine the sequence of events leading up to the fatal crash.
