Scott County, IA – An adult man was airlifted for medical treatment Tuesday afternoon after authorities found him partially pinned beneath construction equipment following an accident in rural Scott County.
According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office , Scott Emergency Communications notified deputies at approximately 2:07 p.m. Tuesday of a construction accident in the 18000 block of 240th Street .
When first responders arrived, authorities said they located an adult man in the south ditch with part of his body pinned underneath construction equipment.
The sheriff’s office did not provide additional details about how the accident happened or what type of construction equipment was involved.
Emergency crews from the Eldridge Fire Department, Eldridge Police Department and Long Grove Fire Department responded to assist with the incident. Medic/EMS personnel also participated in the rescue and medical response.
Authorities said University of Iowa AirCare transported the man from the scene because of the seriousness of his injuries. His name, age and current condition were not immediately released.
The sheriff’s office announcement did not indicate whether anyone else was injured or whether the incident occurred at an active construction site.
Officials also had not released information Tuesday afternoon about what led to the man becoming pinned beneath the equipment.
The incident remains under investigation, and additional information may be released if authorities provide further details about the man’s condition or the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Drivers and residents in the area could have encountered emergency vehicles while crews worked at the scene in northern Scott County, near the Eldridge and Long Grove area.
