Washington, D.C. Pull and Chew Montessori teething toys sold through SHEIN are being recalled because their silicone strings can pose a deadly choking hazard, according to a notice announced Sept. 17, 2026.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the toys do not comply with the mandatory federal safety standard for toys. The silicone strings are smaller and longer than allowed, meaning they can reach the back of a child’s throat and become lodged.
The defect creates a risk of respiratory distress, serious injury or death from choking. Parents, caregivers and other consumers who purchased the toys should immediately take them away from children and stop using them.
