Lane County, OR – A 28 year old Oregon City man previously imprisoned for similar offenses is facing six new criminal counts in an alleged child exploitation case, with Lane County detectives warning Tuesday that additional victims may exist.
According to the Lane County Sheriff 's Office, a grand jury indicted Cody Allen Hinze on Oct. 30, 2026, following an investigation involving the alleged online luring and sexual corruption of a minor.
The investigation began in September when Lane County detectives working alongside the Internet Crimes Against Children ICAC task force started examining allegations involving a minor located in Lane County, which includes Eugene and sits southwest of the Portland metropolitan area.
Investigators identified Hinze, an Oregon City resident, as the suspect.
Authorities said Hinze had previously been sentenced to prison for similar offenses but was released early in July 2026.
On Oct. 20, investigators worked with Clackamas County Parole and Probation to take Hinze back into custody.
Ten days later, a Lane County grand jury indicted him on six counts involving luring a minor and attempted use of a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct.
The Sheriff's Office announced the indictment Tuesday, Nov. 3, emphasizing that the investigation remains active.
