Omaha, NE – Mild temperatures and mostly sunny skies are expected across eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa this week, while River Flood Warnings remain active in southeast Nebraska along the Big Blue River and Turkey Creek.
According to the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley, Monday, Oct. 5, will be mostly sunny and breezy, with highs ranging from 72 to 76 degrees across the forecast area. Overnight lows are expected between 45 and 48.
Tuesday will be the warmest day in the six day outlook. Mostly sunny skies are forecast with highs of 79 to 83 degrees and lows from 53 to 55.
Temperatures remain mild Wednesday, with mostly sunny skies and highs of 76 to 79 degrees. Thursday and Friday will bring some additional clouds, but highs are still expected to reach the 70s. Saturday turns mostly sunny again with highs ranging from 75 to 80.
Despite the generally quiet weather pattern, flooding remains a concern in parts of southeast Nebraska. The NWS said River Flood Warnings remain in effect along the Big Blue River and Turkey Creek.
The agency urged residents to avoid flooded roads. Drivers should not attempt to travel through areas where water covers the roadway.
Otherwise, the outlook shows no significant precipitation through Saturday. Residents can expect the mild pattern to persist, with temperatures peaking Tuesday before settling mainly into the 70s for the remainder of the week.
