Ohio River Valley – A southward-moving cold front is set to bring widespread showers and storms to the Ohio Valley, with rainfall totals expected to reach up to 1.5 inches. While locally higher amounts are possible, officials emphasize that there is currently no new river flooding anticipated following the event.

According to the National Weather Service Ohio River Forecast Center, recent precipitation has varied significantly across the region. In the 24 hours leading up to Friday morning, the northeastern portion of the Ohio River Valley recorded the highest rainfall, with parts of Pennsylvania seeing up to 5 inches, while Ohio and West Virginia generally observed between 0.01 and 2 inches.

Despite this precipitation, rivers throughout the valley showed very little reaction to the rainfall in the last 24 hours. The only notable hydrological activity is occurring along the Wabash River, where a few points remain slightly elevated in the action stage. Residents living near low-lying areas or known flood zones should continue to monitor local water levels and exercise caution if traveling near saturated ground.
