According to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, high pressure and dry easterly flow will keep generally quiet weather across northern Lower Michigan through the remainder of the week. Tuesday will be mostly sunny, with regional highs ranging from 59 to 67 degrees.
Beach hazards remain in effect Tuesday for most Lake Huron beaches in northern Lower Michigan. Anyone heading to the shoreline should check current beach conditions and use caution around the water.
Away from Lake Huron, colder nighttime temperatures will be the main concern. Tuesday night lows range from 36 to 46 degrees, and the Weather Service said patchy frost will be possible at times during the next few days.
Residents in colder inland locations with sensitive plants should monitor overnight temperatures and consider protecting vegetation where readings fall into the 30s.
Despite the chilly nights, daytime temperatures will steadily rise. Wednesday highs range from 62 to 70 degrees, followed by 63 to 71 Thursday and 64 to 71 Friday. Saturday reaches 65 to 72.
Overnight temperatures remain considerably cooler, ranging from 38 to 48 Wednesday night, 37 to 48 Thursday night and 36 to 45 Friday night.
Astronomical fall begins Tuesday, and northern Michigan will experience an appropriately cool start to the season. No significant rain is indicated through Saturday, with predominantly sunny skies continuing into Friday.
The primary concerns Tuesday are hazardous conditions at Lake Huron beaches and another cold night inland. After that, northern Michigan remains dry as afternoon temperatures gradually climb toward the lower 70s by Saturday.
