NH Cold Case Unit Seeks Information on 1986 Homicide

Wilton, NH – The New Hampshire State Police Cold Case Unit is renewing efforts to solve the decades old homicide of 25 year old Michael Kierstead. Officials are once again looking for information regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of the young man, who disappeared nearly four decades ago.
According to the Cold Case Unit, the investigation centers on the final movements of Kierstead, who was last seen in Wilton on September 4, 1986. Following his disappearance, his body was discovered the next day in Milford on September 5, 1986. The agency is now appealing to the public for any leads that might help bring closure to the case.
Investigators hope that modern perspectives or newly surfaced details may provide the breakthrough needed to identify those responsible for the incident. Because the case remains an unsolved homicide, authorities are emphasizing the importance of community assistance to move the investigation forward.
