ONARGA – After 27 years with the majority of those serving as Executive Director, Dennis Wiley announces his plan for retirement from Nexus Onarga Family Healing.
Wiley started at the Onarga location in 1993 and served as the Executive Director for the past 23 years. During his tenure, he played an integral role in the transformation of the program from a traditional residential facility to a therapeutic campus that focuses on the individual healing needs of youth and families.
"It has been an honor to serve the children and families of Illinois for these past 27 years," said Wiley. "I am incredibly proud of the work our team has done to provide innovative, trauma informed care and support to those who need it most. I leave knowing the future of Nexus Onarga Family Healing is bright and in capable hands."
Under Wiley's leadership, the organization expanded its reach and enhanced its service offerings, ensuring that more youth and families have access to the care and resources necessary for success. His commitment to the mission and values of Nexus has been a guiding force for the agency.
"Dennis has been a pillar of the Onarga community and an exceptional leader for our organization," said the Nexus Board of Directors. "His dedication, compassion, and vision have profoundly impacted the lives of countless individuals. We are grateful for his many years of service and wish him the very best in his well deserved retirement."
A search for a new Executive Director is currently underway. Wiley will remain in his position to ensure a smooth transition of leadership.
