Bethesda, Md. Consumers were warned Aug. 13 to stop using certain Cooluli mini refrigerators after federal officials announced a recall over fire and burn hazards. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Cooluli is recalling 10 liter and 15 liter minifridges because an electrical switch can short circuit, creating a risk of fire and burns to users. The recall affects Cooluli branded 10 liter and 15 liter models. Officials say the defect may cause the unit’s electrical switch to overheat or fail, which could ignite surrounding materials or cause burns if someone touches a hot surface. No retailer list or unit counts were provided in the announcement. Owners should immediately stop using the recalled refrigerators and disconnect them from power.
