The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Aug. 20 announced a recall of Koorlian branded mattresses sold on Amazon by Dream Bedding Technology after tests found they do not meet mandatory federal flammability requirements and could pose a serious fire hazard. According to the CPSC, the mattresses violate the mandatory mattress flammability standard, creating a risk of serious injury or death if a fire occurs. The agency said the recall affects Koorlian mattresses sold online through Amazon; specific model identifiers were not provided in the notice. Consumers who purchased the recalled Koorlian mattresses are being told to stop using them immediately. The CPSC and the seller recommend unplugging nearby electrical devices and removing potential ignition sources from the sleeping area until a remedy is arranged.
