San Juan, Puerto Rico Consumers in Puerto Rico were warned Thursday that Clorox Puerto Rico is recalling about 6 million scented Mistolin and Lestoil multi purpose cleaners after the company found the products may contain harmful bacteria.
According to the CPSC, the recalled cleaners may contain bacteria including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an environmental organism found in soil and water. The agency says people with weakened immune systems or those who use external medical devices face the greatest risk of serious infection, which can enter the body if inhaled, through the eyes or through breaks in the skin.
Clorox Puerto Rico initiated the recall after internal testing identified the contamination. The recall covers scented versions of Mistolin and Lestoil multi purpose cleaners distributed in Puerto Rico; the agency did not list specific retailers or lot numbers in its announcement.
