Midland County, MI – A 39 year old Larkin Township man has been arrested after allegedly making threats of violence involving his family members and a school, authorities announced Thursday.
According to the Midland County Sheriff 's Office , deputies initially responded Sept. 14 to a Larkin Township residence for a report of a disorderly man. Investigators learned that an argument had occurred between the 39 year old and his parents, identified as a 60 year old woman and 65 year old man.
Deputies arrested the man at that time on an unrelated warrant and booked him into the Midland County Jail.
During the subsequent investigation, deputies said they learned that the man had allegedly made threats of violence toward family members and a school. The sheriff's office did not identify the school or disclose the specific nature of the alleged threats.
Investigators submitted the case to the Midland County Prosecutor's Office for review and charging authorization. An arrest warrant was subsequently authorized, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies located the man Wednesday and arrested him on the new warrant. He was again lodged in the Midland County Jail.
Authorities are withholding the man's name until he is arraigned in 75th District Court . The sheriff's office said it plans to release updated information after the arraignment.
Officials did not report any injuries or indicate in Thursday's announcement that the alleged threats were carried out.
The allegations have not been proven in court, and the accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
