Lombard, IL – The Village of Lombard has officially opened the application process for its Local Tourism Grant Program for the 2027 calendar year. The municipal government is encouraging local organizations that are planning festivals, community events, or other tourism focused activities to apply for funding intended to bolster the local economy and attract visitors from outside the area.
According to the Village of Lombard, the program is specifically designed to provide financial support to eligible groups and initiatives that promote Lombard as a destination. The initiative aims to help event organizers mitigate costs while bringing cultural and social events to the community that highlight the village’s attractions and spirit.
Applications for the grant must be submitted by Friday, December 11, 2026. Prospective applicants are encouraged to visit the official municipal portal at www.villageoflombard.org/299/Grants to review the eligibility requirements and detailed submission guidelines. The website provides comprehensive information on how the funds are distributed and what specific event criteria must be met to qualify for consideration.
Local officials emphasized that the grant program is a key component of their broader tourism strategy, which seeks to expand the village's footprint in regional travel and recreation. By providing targeted funding, the Village of Lombard hopes to diversify the types of events available for residents and visitors alike throughout 2027. Interested organizations are encouraged to begin their applications early to ensure all requirements are addressed prior to the December deadline.
