Lane County, OR – A 42 year old Cottage Grove man died Sunday after a single motorcycle crash near Waldo Lake Road and Shadow Bay Access Road in Lane County, authorities said.
According to the Lane County Sheriff 's Office, deputies responded to the crash at approximately 4:40 p.m. Sunday after callers reported that a motorcycle and its rider were involved.
Emergency callers reported that the motorcycle operator was unconscious and had visible injuries. Sheriff's office dispatchers provided CPR instructions while people at the scene attempted additional lifesaving measures, authorities said.
Firefighters arrived at approximately 5:15 p.m. Emergency medical personnel subsequently pronounced the rider dead at the scene.
The sheriff's office identified the man as 42 year old Ryan Lee Foster of Cottage Grove.
Deputies investigated the crash scene and notified the Lane County Medical Examiner's Office. Authorities have not released information about what may have caused the motorcycle to crash.
The sheriff's office described the incident as involving a single motorcycle and rider. No other vehicles or injuries were reported in the initial statement.
The crash remains under investigation, and the sheriff's office said no additional information was available for release as of its latest update.
