Lake Geneva, WI — Fire Dept. Hosts 9/11 Observance

Lake Geneva, WI – The Lake Geneva Fire Department will hold a ceremony to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. The observance is scheduled for Friday, September 11, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. in front of Fire Station 1, located at 730 Marshall Street.

According to the department, the ceremony will include bagpipes, messages of remembrance, and a moment of silence at 8:59 a.m. Central Time, signifying the time the first tower fell. Firefighters will also toll the traditional Box 5-5-5-5 in honor of the 343 first responders who died during rescue efforts.

The department emphasized that the event is personal and intended for the community to share in the collective memory of the nation. The public is encouraged to bring family and friends to participate in the act of remembrance.

Organizers stated that the motto "Never Forget" remains a fundamental part of their fire-service culture. The invitation is open to any member of the community who wishes to pay their respects.
