Key path to Alzheimer’s-like brain damage starts outside the brain

Researchers report in mice that T cells linked to Alzheimer’s-like neurodegeneration are primed in lymph nodes outside the brain. Interrupting that peripheral signaling markedly reduced brain damage, pointing to more accessible immune targets beyond the blood–brain barrier for treating Alzheimer’s and related tauopathies.
